On the 4th December, the UN Under-Secretary-General Wu Hongbo cordially had a meeting with Li Jie, the Vice General Manager of CECEP at the Climate Change Conference in Doha.
During the meeting, Li Jie firstly introduced the efforts and results which CECEP had achieved in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable development. He emphasized CECEP competitive advantages, overall strength, and science and technology innovation. Currently, with the international background of green low-carbon development, the 18th National People’s Congress formally proposed the goal of "building a beauty China", which means the construction of ecological civilization has become the critical issue to the overall layout. This is both an opportunity and a challenge to CECEP. As the only central state owned enterprise in energy conservation and environmental protection, CECEP has full strength and is willingly to contribute in the international low-carbon development.
Wu Hongbo, Under-Secretary-General fully affirmed CECEP’s efforts made over the years in the field of energy conservation and emission reduction. He expressed that China, as the world's most impressive developing country, bears a special and important task in the implementation of low-carbon development. Chinese companies need to show the efforts in the field of energy saving in the international community. CECEP provides mature energy saving and environmental protection industrial solutions, which contains a huge business opportunity. CECEP should seize opportunities, address challenges, and have more extensive international cooperation, especially with the relatively less developing countries in the field of energy saving and environmental protection so as to achieve a win-win situation.
