On December 5, 2012, with invitation of Chairman Mr. Zhao Guohua from Schneider Electric, CECEP Chairman Wang Xiaokang attended IEA " World Energy Outlook 2012 ". Chairman Wang had in-depth discussion with IEA Chief Economist Dr. Fatih Birol and representatives from Schneider Electric, ING Bank and Swire Properties in energy efficiency, energy consumption and future development.
Chairman Wang pointed out that China is at the primary stage of economic development with high energy demand, complex energy structure; therefore, it is particularly important to improve energy efficiency. At present, although there is a large technology gap between China and many developed countries, Chinese government has attached great importance with strong support in energy conservation and emission reduction work. It is fully aware of the great potential room in the improvement of energy efficiency. For example, the number of enterprises in industrial energy-saving service in mainland China was less than 100 5 years ago, having said that, this figure is increased to 2500 - 4000. In fact, no matter the Chinese government or enterprises have paid much more attention than it was described by " World Energy Outlook 2012 ".
